Maldives president demands US taxpayer 'climate cash' but is featured member of posh Legacy Club for 'highest level' movers and shakers

12/14/11, ""The Island President" Nasheed - Après moi, le déluge?" The New Nostradamus of the North

"(Maldive President) Nasheed´s new club has a lot to offer: The Legacy club "is, first and foremost, a lifestyle club. And like all lifestyle clubs, members enjoy a range of privileges that include
  • investment opportunities,
  • luxury hotel suite stays and
  • wellness retreats,
  • priority booking for private jets and
  • once-in-a-lifetime experiences"...

Legacy Club was officially launched last month with the Latin motto pharus aliis lucis, or "a beacon of light for others". It is a club focused on networking at the highest levels, but

  • with some altruism thrown in.

We're at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for the grand launch of Legacy and the usually mild-mannered Yim is in high spirits. He informs me that the club has gotten off to a good start, with successful personalities like Mohamad Nasheed, president of the Maldives."...

Flashback September 2011:

President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, the darling of the leftist "progressive" media, was the hero in Jon Shenk´s documentary film "The Islands President", first shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September. According to the producers the film tells story of "a man confronting a problem greater than any other world leader has ever faced—the literal survival of his country and everyone in it".

In the film a journalist asks Nasheed : If the conference doesn’t achieve its goals and sea levels rise, what options are there for the Maldives?
Nasheed is leaning on his elbow, his face in his palm. He looks the journalist square in the eye and says:

  • “None. We will all die.”...

If Nasheed still thinks that "we will all die", he has at least decided

Pacific and Indian Ocean island nations aren't sinking at all and what problems they have are due to nature and poor governance, not CO2.

Maldives lacks fresh water naturally (see heading 'Population). The Hollywood/UN/Maldives/Billionaire shadow world government seeks to blame and drain the evil American middle class.

It hasn't vanished due to 'global warming.' Habitats such as this have never been suitable for large populations.

Maldives is NATURALLY the lowest sea level nation on the planet--having nothing to do with CO2 or warming.

"Protestors gathered outside the United Nations Building here in Male today, condemning UN human rights chief's comments against flogging and the constitutional provision that requires every Maldivian to be a Muslim.

The protestors who carried signboards with angry slogans first surrounded the UN Building on Buruzu Magu today afternoon and called authorities to arrest Navi Pillay who concluded her four-day visit to the island nation yesterday.

Protestors broke up for Sunset Prayer but again gathered at the Tsunami Monument area in the evening, demanding an apology from the UN and parliamentarians for Pillay's comments."...

The US taxpayer should not be forced to give money it doesn't have to savages who flog women. We've already given the Maldives millions of US tax dollars via the Obama stimulus:

"
The US Department of Energy (DOE) announced last week that it has used $60 million of the $1.2 billion given to the agency in economic stimulus funds for purchasing “advanced-technology research instruments”

  • to study climate change.

Some of this equipment was deployed at facilities in the Maldives, India, and Australia."...

12/8/10, "Cancun's Climate Crock," American Thinker, Brian Sussman

"And the submersion of Tuvalu and Maldives? Their surrounding waters show no measurable signs of rising. The problem is the islands of Maldives are relatively flat coral atolls. Since tourism was first introduced to the nation in 1972,

Digging up coral on small islands to build large hotels and conference centers is as stupid as sucking the air out of a lifeboat to breathe. The mining has severely compromised the atolls,
  • creating the impression that the islands are sinking.
Likewise, Tuvalu's problem is not climate change. Tuvalu's mess is that the country was never meant for modern habitation. There is no fresh water available -- only what can be cached from rain. Much of the population on the main island uses a lagoon for its bathing and toilet facilities."...

Ed. note: Maldives Pres. Nasheed has had a hard life and I'm sorry for that. But he is wrong on this. The climate industry is based on a lie about CO2 and was up and running scams before anyone had a chance to learn it was the greatest crime against humanity in history. Now it's "too big to fail." Maybe for the elite but not for those of us who care about the exploitation and murder of defenseless masses.
